” The good Anne is on the inside and the bad Anne is on the out,” The first thing that came to my mind when I read this was that this part of the diary really shows that Anne isn’t some made up, plastic, fake teenage girl. She actually has feelings. Even though she is not dealing with school, mean girls, or normal teenage problems she has to deal with being isolated from every body and the people she is lucky enough to have at her side don’t even really know her. I really think she is frustrated at that. I know that if I was in that position I would just want to go outside in the fresh air and scream. In a way you can tell that in the past year Anne has really grown up from the little thirteen year old she used to be. Even though there is not that much going on in her life except for, basically, replaying the same day over and over again she tries to make each day interesting and some how different from the last. As she tells “kitty” the highlights of her day they may not seem fun at first. Then you realize that that may have been the only good thing that happened that day. She makes that one thing seem like the best thing that could ever happen to a person. When she writes in her diary you feel like you are really there because she describes everything in clear detail, which also points out that she had a great imagination, good creativity, and was a great writer.

My house is about as close as you can get to a zoo! In total, there are four kids, two adults, three dogs, three cats, two goats, and one angora rabbit. Talk about crazy. My dad does like animals, but he doesn’t show it. He acts like it is a weakness. Every time we get a new pet my dad would say no. We usually don’t listen to him and sneak them in the house. After about two weeks, when it is too late to take them back, we tell him that they are now a part of the family. One of our newest additions to the family was our dog, Bella. She is a doberman. We rescued her from The Atlanta Doberman Rescue. We adopted her in March 2007. For the first four years of Bella’s life she lived in a small crate. In those four years she gave birth to about ten litters of puppies. Yes, she was used at a puppy mill. The cage was probably never cleaned, she was most likely not let out very often, and did not have to love and affection that dogs need. Her owners were so horrible to her that one day she tried to escape. Having never seen the outside world she got hit by a car and broke her right hip and leg. When she was returned to her house/jail, instead of being taken to a vet she was taken out to her yard, chained to a tree, without food or water, and left to die. Her owners figured she would not be able to have puppies any more, so she was of no use to them, this was apparently the quickest way to get rid of her. For about a month, she lived on nothing but grass, most likely. Finally, the neighbors called Animal Control. They came and took Bella and all the other dogs away from this “pound”. When she got to the house they told the foster family that she was most likely going to die that night. But, she lived. She did still have to have surgery on her hip and she still limps. She also has hundreds of heart worms in her body from living outside for that long. If you looked on the website for Atlanta Doberman Rescue, some of the dogs are renamed. This is because some of the dogs just need a whole new life. Bella’s previous name was Polly. Over all her life has been a living h- e- double hockey sticks for those first four years of poor Bella’s life. She lives with us now, isn’t the prettiest thing you have ever seen, and has horrible skin. When the Animal Control picked her up she weighed 30 pounds, and today she weighs about 80 pounds. Bella is one of the most sweetest dogs I will ever meet. All she wants is to be loved and have a family. I think we gave her that dream.

This is Lucy, she is a West Highland White Terrior, or a Westie

By just one look I may look normal. I wear the same uniform as everybody at my school, I wear sperrys, my hair is pretty strait, and I love jewelry. That may seem like I am an average girl, but like everybody else I am unique and have my own little quirks. Everybody always says that I always have a smile on my face. I have a lot of friends and bring out the best in people. Laughing is one of my favorite hobbies. I am the one who will sometimes hold back but I have the power to try some weird things. I love to dance, it’s good exercise but it also helps me express myself. Some people think its weird, but that does not stop me from doing it! I also swim during the summer, my dad swam in collage and loves it with a passion. I don’t love it like he does, but I do it to make him happy. I do have a lot of friends on the team from other schools, it is definitely worth while. To me doing sports is teaching me to hold commitments, sportsmanship, responsibility, and what choices to make. Today in prime time we had a small assembly. That assembly made me think if I was ” two faced.” Sometimes things slip out before you can stop them, but most of the time I try to think them through and say to myself, ” would you do this in front of ______ ?” I sometimes notice people who just say things for the sake of saying them, or just to look cool. I still don’t understand how putting someone down could make you feel superior. I also think that self esteem is very important, but when you have to much of it people don’t always see you. I am the one who thinks school is important and tries hard, but balances it well with friends and sports. Word of the Wise : don’t try to be some one your not just to look cool. People don’t buy it
this shows hard work and how dance is a sport
these shoes show gracefulness and poise
